Stormy Day

The sky was dull, fog hovered above the fierce sea. Seagulls were soaring through the sky trying to fighting against the wind, unable to make it.The powerful wind forced my jacket to flap and hit my face every time. Shivering with goosebumps my face was turning purple. I shout out to my mum but the wind has taken my voice away. I Flinched as the sand whipped me in  the leg. I try to tell mum something but the wind just snatched my words away every time, so I didn't bother anymore.

“The sand is so soggy!” Barely able to see, Hare tripped in a ditch and smacked her head on a rock. She stopped moving, “wake up” I cried. No reply. There are no emergency service shelters nearby, the next one is about 7 miles away. Worried about her I tried to wake her up, she wasn’t responding. “We need to carry her let’s go.” Sinking into the sand trying to carry her the wind blew us over. She had disappeared “where is she” I don’t know James replied. “look, is that her there?” I asked. “Quick, get her.”

Trying to grab her I couldn’t reach. “She’s drifting out." Waves smashed into my face, swallowing sea water every second, thinking to myself can I do this? Powering through tough waves James and I were determined to swim to Hare. I saw something in the water, not sure if it was a shark or not? We didn't give up. It was getting closer worried we are going to die I tried to find Hare to make sure she was alright. She's not in sight.

Waitangi Day

Kids running and playing, scooters everywhere the field was like a huge crowd at a rugby game. I was so hungry. Munching my lunch back, swans came thinking they were going to eat too. They were in luck because we took some old bread for them. as I was eating the swan swiped at me but I’m not sure why it did. The birds got annoying after awhile trying to eat my food. After I ate my food I went to see all the eels. The eels were up on the rock eating the food and the I saw a cat fish it looked really ugly.

Netbook Reflection 2012

This year was the second year that I had a netbook. I like having a netbook because it is easier to work on, with all the gadgets you need. I have the internet within five minutes that is one of the things I like having a netbook. You can play games in your free time you can download games from ubuntu software, learn from them too. I like playing on tuxmath it helps me to get faster and smarter at my maths. I LOVE having a netbook because I can learn more about the new technology we have here in the 20th century. The internet has been more stronger this year because at my house pretty much anywhere I go I can get TLN Manaiakalani. The only negative I have is the internet because it sometimes plays up and it runs slow for us but at least it’s better than last year!
I like working on my netbook 24/7 because if I haven't finished my work at school I can work on it at home. Also we have got access to find out about the latest news and see when and where an event is happening like, the Panmure Santa parade.

Telecom Event

On Saturday night some of the students from my school including me went with Telecom to Victoria Park, to see the Christmas Tree light up.  Katherine and Courtney were the ones who helped us find our way from Telecom to Victoria park. As we got there I saw this massive tree made out of lights, in the middle of three phone booths with a stage underneath it. As music played we were allowed to dance on stage in front of everyone.
There were phone booths and the call line was to Santa. BUT...... You had to wait a while, while Mr & Mrs Clause talked then you would hear a sparkling noise and then you wish. Isara, Darius Kingston and I went into the phone box and we wished for really cool things, the most common wish from us was the Apple Ipad.
I LOVED it at Victoria Park! THANK YOU  Telecom for giving me the chance to experience such a fun event with you guys. You Guys ROCK!

Writing Sample

There were, some kids going for a walk one day, exploring the wonderful bush. The weather report was good enough to go hiking on that day. They were going for the walk because they were bored during the holidays, they had nothing else to do.
They had left their house at 8:00 am in the morning. By time they were deep in the bush it was 12:00 pm. They stopped to have a break and have something to eat. During their lunch Ahsin and Waata asked “mum can we go and play over there please” “yes” she replied and off they went...
But what their mum didn’t know was that they weren’t just going to stay there they were going somewhere else too. They started playing where their mum could see them and soon had moved away a bit more around a bend. They were playing a game and Ahsin cheated and Waata just hates it when people cheat, so they started fighting over what had happened. Meanwhile on the other side of the bend their mum, dad, brother and sister were still eating almost finished ready to start walking again. Ahsin and Waata were still fighting too. Ahsin and Waata finally stopped fighting when they heard their mum and dad walking over to them. They had to go back and get ready to leave.
They had just started walking and Ahsin and his sister were fighting this time. their mum and dad said to stop but they didn’t listen so Ahsin had to hold onto his mums hand and Hare had the hold onto their dads hand. They didn’t like that at all. It was starting to get late so they decided to go back home. The time was 3:00 pm. As they were walking home Waata had ran ahead say “I’ll meet you guys soon I just need to go to the toilet” he quickly ran into the bushes and did his business. but as he was about to get out of the bushes he slid down a cliff screaming in fear. His family rushed to the bushes as they heard him screaming. They saw Waata at the end of the cliff and luckily they brought a rope with them just in case. They threw it down down to him and he held on tightly as their dad and older brother James pulled him up.
It took them awhile before they got him to the top but they managed to keep it together and had done it. They were all happy to see him and his mum had a few tears rolling down her face telling him she loves him. They all went home a bit frightened but they all had a good day.
