My Strategy

Trevor has to drive 422 km’s. He looks at his odometer and sees he has gone 289 kms. How much further has he got to go?

Answer: 133.

Strategy: Add 1 onto 289 = 290 … 290 + 10 = 300 … 300 + 100 = 400 … 400 + 22 = 422.

1 + 10 + 100 + 22 = 133

Kia Ora my name is Raenan and I am a year 8 student at PT. England school. I am in room 20 and my teacher is Ms Squires. I am a half Filipino and half Maori. My friends in my class are Waata, Kendrix, Kingston, James, Alex and Gabriel. We have fun laughing at jokes, and talk A LOT! I like to play outside with my friends. We mostly play touch on the field. Gabriel is my best friend and we go to the Tamaki Recreation Centre to play basketball. I have a scooter and ride on it all the time. I have a family of five who live in my house. My mum, dad, brother, sister and myself. My two siblings can be really annoying sometimes. My sister has a son and his name is Hendrix.
